The Harvey Nash 2013 CIO Survey is bursting with insights and information about the characteristics of CIOs today and their key priorities. CIOs, CTOs and senior leaders of IT departments are invited to join Harvey Nash's upcoming webinar, where our Managing Director and SVP of International Technology Solutions, Anna Frazzetto, will discuss key findings from the survey that include:
CIOs have more strategic influence than ever, but more than half (57 percent) believe they lack support from the board to realize their technology vision.
CIOs believe that cloud, collaboration and mobility have big potential, but they bring exposure to security risks; only one quarter of CIOs (26 percent) are "very well" prepared to respond to a threat, down from 29 percent in 2012, and 37 percent in 2011.
DEMAND FOR "NEW" SKILLS UP
Almost a third of U.S. CIOs (31 percent) are seeking mobile skills, a figure that has doubled since 2011, but CIOs are still reliant on traditional skills to get the job done: enterprise architecture (sought by 42% of CIOs), business analysis (38%), technical architecture (36%) and project management (34%) remain the most in demand skills overall.
