What we do Overview
We’re one of Scotland’s most trusted advisers to CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, Heads of IT and executive-level IT professionals.
We use our vast market knowledge, global networks and robust search processes to bring talented leaders into a range of organisations.
Our success is built on the quality of our network. We’ve grown our global CIO community for over two decades, and during that time we’ve established the industry’s foremost CIO survey (for over 15 years) which presents the views of more than 2,000 CIOs and technology leaders across 20 countries.
Every year, we meet thousands of CIOs at our industry events, as well as identifying talented leaders of the future. It’s a simple principle, but we’ve learnt great relationships lead to great results.
We also have a specialist team who work with the direct reporting line to the CIO. Please explore Harvey Nash IT Leadership to find out more.
The new normal CIO
Our experience is that companies today are demanding far more from their Chief Information Officer than ever before. While historically the criteria for a good CIO was relatively simple - tech savvy, commercially astute, project management ability - today the emphasis has shifted significantly towards being politically influential. Not only do they need an impressive track record in galvanising people and processes, but also the ability to drive through strategic change and win widespread buy-in from colleagues and stakeholders.
The way we work
As true search experts, our methods are thorough, focused and tailored to find the best solution for you. We work collaboratively by drawing on our consultants’ collective knowledge and experience, and tapping into our global networks to fully map the market. Through in-depth interviews and psychometric testing, we place significant emphasis on identifying candidates with the vision, leadership and influencing skills needed to add competitive advantage within any organisation.
