Harvey Nash launches Engage, a new inclusion network connecting business leaders from all cultural backgrounds
January 15th 2015, London - Harvey Nash, the global executive recruitment and outsourcing group, launches a new and unique inclusion network - Engage.
Focused on bringing together senior business leaders from all cultural backgrounds, the network will act as a platform for discussion, networking and peer-to-peer support for a section of the business community traditionally underrepresented at executive and board level.
Engage follows the success of Inspire - Harvey Nash's network of senior board women, launched in 2008 - which now has over 5,000 members across the UK, Continental Europe, the U.S. and Asia Pacific. In October 2014, Harvey Nash became one of the first eight executive search companies to achieve HM Government accreditation for its work in helping small and medium sized companies increase female participation on boards.
Engage was launched at an event jointly hosted with the Financial Times Non-Executive Directors’ Club in Central London, with guest speaker Heather Rabbatts CBE, former Chief Executive of the London Borough of Lambeth and the first woman to be appointed to the board of the Football Association.

Peter Reichwald, founder of Engage and Consultant at Harvey Nash commented: “We believe talent comes in all sizes, colours, nationalities, sexual orientation, age, gender and different cultures. Through Engage we aim to begin the process of creating a unique recruitment platform to improve diversity on shortlists and in senior roles . As an executive and non-executive recruiter we are in a unique position to contribute to the debate and to pro-actively help make this happen.”
Commenting on the launch of Engage, Albert Ellis, Harvey Nash CEO: “Following on from the Department of Business’s 2020 Campaign, which aims to increase Board diversity in the FTSE 100 within five years, Engage is a unique opportunity to lead change. As an executive and technical recruiter we recognise not only the important role we can play in changing perceptions, but most importantly our role in educating the market and our clients whilst actively extending the pool of available talent on shortlists.”
