Sectors CEO & Board function
Harvey Nash Executive Search has served as a close advisor to boards (and investors) for twenty-five years, both in small companies and large multinationals, with the aim of finding the best CEOs to achieve future business goals. We firmly believe that this is one of the most important investments an organisation can possibly make.
In a CEO search project, Harvey Nash Executive Search’s consultants work in dedicated and bespoke teams. Our CEO search projects are shaped by very close and trusting relationships with boards, a high level of professionalism, absolute confidentiality and a passion for finding the leaders who will make a real difference.
Every year, Harvey Nash Executive Search recruits board directors to corporations that are publicly listed, family-owned, private-equity owned, or owned by an association – in most cases a collaboration that has continued over the years.
With our extensive network of highly merited professionals, with long experience of NED roles as well as individuals ready to take their first board director role, we have access to the most qualified candidates, in the obvious and not-so-obvious talent pools.
Harvey Nash Executive Search adds experience, expertise, professionalism, project management, focus on diversity, and objectivity to the process. Our mission is to identify and recruit high-calibre candidates, and our process is characterised by confidentiality and high ethics.
International corporate governance has changed radically over the past ten years.
Harvey Nash Executive Search works with chairmen, non-executive directors, chief executives and other board directors providing a variety of services including board evaluations, board recruitment, incentive schemes for boards and executive management audits. The boardroom door is no longer closed: decisions are scrutinised and monitored carefully by both media and company owners, and companies now need to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of their boards.
Boards of directors are now expected to meet even higher standards of professionalism and expertise. Harvey Nash Executive Search helps clients raise the bar, finding talent for both executive leadership and non-executive chairmen roles to drive organisations in these changing times.
Ownership structures in today's business world are fragmented and ever-changing. The stock market, institutional investors and venture capital companies all have high expectations of board members. Increasingly, the focus has also been directed towards what external and independent board members can bring to the table. The average term of office for board members is steadily declining and clearer demands are being made for long-term succession planning.
Equally, public sector bodies demand expertise from both the public and commercial world.
Harvey Nash Executive Search has both local and international expertise to search for outstanding individuals. We work in close communication with our clients to ensure the most experienced and suitable candidates are sourced.
It is recognised that women, members of black and minority ethnic communities, and disabled people are underrepresented on boards and in senior positions. Harvey Nash has developed numerous diversity initiatives including the Women’s Directorship Programme [include hyperlink to www.wdpglobal.com], Inspire [include hyperlink to Inspire] and Tbay. The aim is to build a wider pool of these candidates in order to provide our clients with the best solutions to today’s issues.
The strategic and performance related demands on the board are increasing, and the value of an evaluation may be crucial in ensuring effectiveness and success. Harvey Nash Executive Search provides customised board evaluations to help clients realise their strengths and weaknesses and optimise company performance.
A quantitative and qualitative investigation provides an insight into how the board works and where there are areas for improvement. The evaluation shows, among other things, how the chairman and CEO perform their roles and responsibilities within the board of directors, and what contribution each individual board member makes. The analysis of both the composition and expertise within the board is also of central importance. Each evaluation assignment is tailored to match our client’s needs with the help of our experienced consultants
We also perform management and executive audits to specifically evaluate the CEO and the rest of the management team.
