Non-Executive Directors, Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides acute and specialist hospital services to Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Employing 3,000 staff of which around 500 are doctors and with an annual turnover of £200m, we are a progressive organisation with ambitious goals. Our vision for the future is to continue to develop a service that delivers the best possible care, treatment and outcomes for our patients and their families. We achieved university status in April 2015 which reflects the huge expansion of teaching taking place, most prominently in our partnership with the University of Buckingham to create the UK's first independent medical school.

We are now seeking to recruit two talented and highly motivated non-executive directors to join the Trust Board and drive forward the Trust's strategic development. Working closely with the Chair, you will have a strong commitment to the principles of the NHS and provide strategic direction, leadership and challenge at the Board of Directors.

In these roles, we are actively seeking individuals from a range of professional backgrounds including those who are financially qualified and have held Finance Director or equivalent roles from either the public or private sector, and those who have a clinical background at a senior level. This could be gained in a range of settings including nursing, acute physician, GP, and public health.

Your role will be to ensure that the Trust fulfils its statutory and legislative responsibilities, whilst always prioritising a commitment to excellent patient care. You will utilise your professional skills and perspective to add value to the governance and strategic development of the Trust, holding senior managers to account and offering collaborative challenge and advice. You are likely to have close links with our catchment area and will be committed to making a difference to the way care is delivered to patients.

You will be a dynamic individual who is progressive, ambitious and driven with a proven record of delivery and able to establish relationships across complex stakeholder landscapes.
