Deputy Medical Director, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is the principal provider of specialist hospital services for around 450,000 people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, a figure which can be doubled by holiday makers during the busiest times of the year. The Trust employs around 5,000 staff whose knowledge skills and experience ensure they are able to provide excellent care to patients.
The Trust delivers care of the highest standards which is reflected in our patient surveys. We are an ambitious organisation with the potential to develop an exciting new model of care for our population, and have made progress in a number of key areas as we develop our organisation. However, we also face a number of significant challenges which require the highest calibre of leadership in order for us to meet them.
We are now seeking an outstanding senior clinician to join us in the newly created role of Deputy Medical Director to help lead the continual development of clinical services, maximising the range of specialist care that can be offered locally and build our reputation for innovation and research. Working with the Medical Director and the rest of the executive team the post holder will provide professional leadership across the Trust with a particularly focus on the development of the highest standards of quality and patient safety, team working, and a culture in which clinical excellence will flourish.
