Photos and blog from the launch of the Harvey Nash Women in Technology Survey

Harvey Nash Edinburgh were proud to sponsor the Women In Technology Conference on Friday 28th November in the Radisson Blu Hotel on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh.

Over 100 women (and a few men) came along to hear the results of the first ever Harvey Nash Women in Technology survey and Scottish Government CTO, Anne Moises talk about the opportunities for women in technology in Scotland. Hosted by Harvey Nash Scotland, Girl Geek Scotland and Silicon Valley Scotland Link, the event also gave our guests the opportunity to pose their own questions to our expert panel:

Chair - Rhona Hutchon, Director, Harvey Nash Scotland

Heidi Roizen, Silicon Valley Entrepreneur, Venture Capitalist, Educator

Anne Moises, CTO, Scottish Government

Leah Hutcheon, CEO, Appointedd

Jacqueline Steed, CDO, Student Loans Company

Sharon Moore, Technical Leader for Social Business & Smarter Commerce, IBM

We were delighted to have Heidi Roizen join us at the conference; Heidi provided a great insight into her own career achievements and most importantly her excellent advice on how to further your career in the industry.

The panel covered a range of topics down to office culture and how women integrate into a typically male environment, how to encourage more, younger women into technology, how to keep female technologists in the sector and of course, how to ask for a payrise!

The survey and event have covered important topics and we are continuing to think of ways to push the issue further, breaking more ground as we go. The Women in Technology Conference was a great step forward and we look forward to the next one.
