Web Developer - Java/UI

Description

Our client is seeking a Web Developer for their mobile group. This role will focus heavily on the Web development side and less on the server side. Candidate will require strong skills and talents in Web development.

Required/Necessary Skills and Knowledge

• In-depth knowledge of developing standards-compliant Web sites
• In-depth knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, DOM
• Strong knowledge of server side Java development
• Strong knowledge of J2EE application servers (BEA/Oracle Web Logic 9.2+ preferred; JBoss, WebSphere, Sun acceptable)
• Strong knowledge of J2EE development (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, EJB, AJAX, XML, SOAP, REST)
• Comprehension of software development methodologies
• Understanding of cascading style sheets
• Able to travel 25% or more of the time, domestically and internationally

Desired/Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of developing and testing user experiences for mobile devices
• Experienced in modern mobile devices and evolving mobile standards
• Progressive technical experience in development of mobile services
• Skills involving Unix/Linux shell scripting (sh, bash, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc.)
• Server and network infrastructure expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience
• Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience, with expertise in developing Web services
