The Talent Gap
This global wireless rental solutions provider was focused on strengthening its position and increasing its growth in the U.S. marketplace. Key to this effort was finding the right CEO to provide strategic vision, lead business growth and develop a strong culture. The Cellhire management team was extremely rigorous in selecting Harvey Nash as its executive search partner.
The Search Approach & Solution
Because the Cellhire management team works extensively across its global locations, the right CEO candidate would need solid executive leadership experience within the telecom space combined with a rich appreciation of both European and U.S. work environments. To address the dual-market requirement, Harvey Nash established a U.S. and UK-based search approach. Alistair Robinson, Harvey Nash's Executive Search Managing Director in the U.S., and Justin Hobday, an experienced director within the UK Executive Search practice, focused their respective research teams on sourcing executive talent from the telecom market.
Once a strong group of candidates had been identified, Robinson conducted interviews in order to build the short list. Based on those interviews, a short list of five candidates from Verizon, AT&T, Motorola, Nokia and Ericsson was presented to Cellhire.
Harvey Nash coordinated the interview schedule and served as a talent evaluation consultant throughout the process. After a thorough interview process in both the U.S. and the UK, Cellhire selected its new U.S. CEO - an industry leader who is Verizon's former Regional President.
With its new U.S. CEO successfully in place, Cellhire is now working with Harvey Nash to source other key U.S. management roles, including a General Manager of its New York region and a Director of New Business Development.
