The Talent Need
A client that had leveraged Harvey Nash Executive Search services in the UK and France, Ascom had not yet tapped into the capabilities of Harvey Nash's USA search team. Learning of the company's need for a VP of Operations in the U.S., the Harvey Nash team quickly acquainted Ascom and its senior executive leaders with its American market search expertise and extensive research capabilities.
Impressed by Harvey Nash's global capabilities and determination to rapidly deliver the best executive candidates, Ascom retained Harvey Nash for the VP of Operations search.
The Search Approach & Solution
Understanding Ascom's unique business and the specialized skills and experience a successful VP of Operations would need, Harvey Nash built a search approach that combined rigorous talent research with an aggressive, fast-paced search across targeted companies. With talent research focused on the southeastern region of the U.S. market, the Harvey Nash team was able to build an excellent short-list of eight experienced application development/project management executives.
"I was very impressed by the overall quality of the candidates Harvey Nash delivered in the short list," recalls Philippe Gervaise, President of Ascom Transport Systems. "The experience and caliber of the executives we were interviewing exactly matched what we were looking for."
Ascom was able to hire its new VP of Operations from the Harvey Nash short list. Just one week after hiring the VP, Ascom retained Harvey Nash again to undertake a search for a U.S.-based Director of Operations who will oversee a multi-million dollar project and client in the Northeast.
