Thank you for your interest in the role of Director of Finance and Corporate Services at the NSPCC. This is a key role at the UK’s leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. With an annual budget of around £150m, funded mainly through public donations, the NSPCC is a very sizeable and complex organisation and the Director of Finance and Corporate Services is responsible not just to the Trustees but to the very many individuals who give their money to help end cruelty to children.

In such a complex organisation, particularly one that is so dependent on public donations, it is essential that our processes are robust and rigorous. It is vital, too, that our IT investment strategy and services are highly effective, given our heavy reliance on IT for our helplines and communications. We will be looking to our new Director of Finance and Corporate Services to develop a culture with a strong focus on finance and performance, to drive through efficiency and to maximise the benefits of our substantial investment in technology.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong personal commitment to our vision, purpose and values who brings excellent financial leadership skills, strong strategic management capacity and commercial acumen.

As you may know, I have recently announced that I am stepping down as Chief Executive of NSPCC to take on a new role with the Clore Duffield Foundation. Our Trustees are currently recruiting my successor and it is our hope that he or she will be available to meet candidates selected for final interview and contribute to the final selection process.
