Welcome Letter From Councillor Gary Clarke, Chairman and Geoff Inskip, Chief Executive, Centro-WMPTA

Dear Applicant

"A world class public transport system delivered by a best in class organisation"

Thank you for your enquiry about the Director posts.

Centro-WMPTA (the West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority and Executive) has revised its senior level management structure to improve public transport in the West Midlands through focusing on delivery and relationships.

The new Director posts responsible for Finance and Planning, Bus and Highways, Rail and Rapid Transit and Organisation Change and Development are vital in supporting the PTA and the Chief Executive in delivering the benefits of the new structure and driving improvements in public transport in the West Midlands.

We are looking for Directors with the skills and commitment to take us forward, and deliver our vision.

Centro-WMPTA works closely with private and public sector partners to bring about a high quality, accessible public transport network in the West Midlands that enables everyone to use public transport to meet their travel needs. The new senior team will maintain and build these relationships.

Centro employs around 400 staff. We are looking for Directors who will provide leadership and demonstrate management practices and approaches that create an appropriate business environment to maximise the contribution of staff and also ensure probity, integrity and value for money in all business activities.

These posts will develop the Centro-WMPTA so that it is viewed as a business partner worth working with, a service provider and facilitator of high quality services and an employer of choice.

These challenges are in the context of public transport rising ever higher up the national and local political agenda and consideration about regional governance arrangements.

Working jointly with the PTA, these posts will contribute to and influence these debates for the benefit of public transport in the West Midlands.

If you feel that you have the managerial and professional skills, with the enthusiasm and commitment to take Centro-WMPTA forward in this complex and challenging environment, we would very much welcome your application.

Yours sincerely
