ICT Programme Manager

Job Title: ICT Programme Manager

Location: Manchester

Report To: Director of Information and Technology

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, flexibility will be required

Key Responsibility of Role:
The ICT Programme Manager is responsible and accountable for the co-ordinated management of multiple related projects directed towards BDP’s strategic business objectives. To co-ordinate the ICT project programme from a resourcing and budgetary perspective. This is a key role in the transformation of BDP’s ICT services to the practice.
Responsible for: ICT Project teams, when brought together under an ICT programme umbrella. The teams will by there nature be flexible and have to adjust to the individual project demands. Resources will have to be balanced within the context of the requirements of ‘business as usual’ and ICT project delivery.

Main Duties:

  • The ICT Programme Manager will be responsible for the overall service delivery and ICT project programme.

  • To develop in conjunction with the Director of Information and Technology and the Heads of Infrastructure, Project Technology and Business and Information Systems a co-ordinated and integrated set of programmes for service and individual project delivery.

  • To maintain and monitor the integrated programme and effectively manage all the dependencies.

  • This is a very consultative role, engaging with individuals at all levels of the practice and managing all sides; financial, business and technology.

  • Responsible for making recommendations regarding the priorities of projects and managing all sides; financial, business and technical.

  • The role involves high levels of team leadership, team management, collaboration and co-operation including working with and influencing customers, suppliers and partners.

  • The co-ordination of the technical delivery across multiple projects.

  • Responsible for business continuity planning as it affects ICT provision.

  • Regularly review the ICT team’s performance to improve the processes involved and customer experiences.

Essential Skills:

  • Will have significant project and programme management experience.

  • Must have a broad understanding of a wide range of technologies and managed service environments (including; networking, windows server applications, storage environments, information systems, web delivery and managed service transformation).

  • Experience working in a matrix and design orientated environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in project management methodologies and tools.
