My client is an industry leading high frequency algorithmic trading firm. An opportunity exists for a Tactical Developer within London Tactical Developers team. This team is very much a business facing one working very closely with the traders developing tactical trading applications.The Development Department comprises multiple teams made up of C++ Developers, C# Developers, Tactical Developers and System Testers. They all work together building sophisticated tools for our traders to trade securities and derivatives in markets across Asia, Europe and US.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Produces the fastest and best trading tools by:
Developing applications using lightweight technologies (Excel VBA, SQL) which allow to adjust and respond quickly to business requirements
Developing new concept applications for prototyping Automation of repetitive tasks/processes
General Excel trouble shooting for the business
Daily interaction with trading desks identifying, clarifying and prioritising tasks Meeting and exceeding end users expectations in terms of functionality, quality and performance
Performing triage on support issues received with the aim of maximising business benefits
Improves our development speed by ensuring that:
All software created is of the highest levels of quality, achieves required standards with respect to performance, documentation, testability, robustness and that code review processes etc are followed
Excel development are shared across the business Projects are carried out in full collaboration with colleagues across the business/offices

SKILLS
Very strong Excel and VBA skills
Knowledge of financial derivatives Knowledge of risk measures
Experience of C#, OO Paradigm, COM/.NET essential, R a bonus
Experience in working with Bloomberg preferential Knowledge of ORC preferential
Experience in working on trading floor preferential Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Degree in Mathematics related discipline
