Capita required a partner that could deliver high quality and fully documented software code to tight specifications within tight timescales.
Solution
DTi – Constructionline
Capita has a contract with the DTi to administer and manage Constructionline, a UK-wide register of local and national pre-qualified construction suppliers. As part of a major redevelopment of the service, Harvey Nash was engaged to develop the new Web-based system to support the register and enable procurers to interface with various e-procurement initiatives as well as further benefiting suppliers.
The service is designed as an online portal to bring together customers and provider organisations. The system has a very simple static Web front end for the general public. However, it has a very sophisticated transactional Web site for registered suppliers and buyers. Suppliers are qualified, scored and monitored. This includes monitoring of accounts and safety certificates held.
Buyers are presented with information on suppliers that match their selection criteria. These selection criteria include financial, operational, and geographic considerations. The project was delivered within the projected 9 month timescale and met all the client’s stringent UAT requirements.
Capita Education Services (CES)
CES provide a School Information Management System (SIMS) and .Net application used in over 2000 schools in the UK and encompasses a wide selection of modules covering Attendance & Behaviour, Pupil Performance, Curriculum Planning, Finance and Resources. Over an 11 month period Harvey Nash developed a module, Personnel 7, which is an integral part the SIMS. The Personnel 7 module allows schools effectively to manage personnel, professional and contractual information about their staff. Smaller project delivered enhancements for the Attendance suite of software.
Capita Software Services
Between 1,500 - 3000 person-days per year was supplied as part of a service that maintained and enhanced the application Academy Housing. Academy Housing is the complete business solution from Capita Software Services for housing management organisations, providing all the software required for managing properties throughout their life cycle. The application is legislative compliant, functionality rich and practitioner driven.
