Global Engineering Director
Location - Northern England
Salary - Substantial six figure base salary, plus bonus and equity participation
This multi-national company is one of the foremost names in the manufacture of products and systems for the business services sector. Profitable and well-funded, the business is highly acquisitive and expanding rapidly. Against a backdrop of wide ranging strategic change, the company is assessing its senior management cadre and wishes to make a landmark leadership appointment to the Executive team.
The Opportunity
- Reporting to the CEO, this is a newly created role, with full engineering and technological leadership responsibility, managing a geographically dispersed team to create centres of excellence around the world.
- The technical authority, with full involvement in the strategic planning of the business, ensuring global engineering resources are fully aligned with business strategy.
- Responsibility for the entire new product development road map, in particular, on-time delivery of new products as well as leading design reviews to optimise lean and low cost manufacture, whilst ensuring integrity within lifecycle management.
- Leading ongoing strategic research into new product technology, materials and concepts, including competitors, both inside and outside of the company’s current portfolio and markets.
Candidate Profile
- An established engineering leader, the successful candidate will be accustomed to operating and delivering change at Board-level and throughout the organisation, with sound business and financial management skills
- Wide ranging experience in leading new product development through to successful commercial launch, in a fast moving and technically innovative organization
- Demonstrable experience of strategic planning, with a significant track record of advancing financial performance of the business through new, on-time and on-budget product introductions.
- Faced-paced, with strong leadership and influencing skills, candidates should have a proven ability lead from the front, introduce change and deliver results.
