Harvey Nash CEO joins City University London's information leadership advisory panel

Albert Ellis, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Harvey Nash, has joined the External Advisory Panel of City University London's Centre for Information Leadership - a group of IT industry luminaries who steer the Centre's education and research direction.

Albert has been with the global professional recruitment consultancy and IT outsourcing service provider since 1998, serving first as Group Finance Director before becoming CEO in 2005. Harvey Nash is Europe's leading recruiter of senior technology appointments and as such is responsible for one of the world's most comprehensive annual Chief Information Officer (CIO) surveys.

Each year Albert addresses over 1,000 CIOs at conferences around the world, bringing in-depth insight into the most recent IT sector trends, including the skills that are in demand from graduate through to CIO level.

David Chan, Director of the Centre of Information Leadership at City, says: "We are delighted that Albert has joined us. He is a CEO who really understands the value that a CIO with the right mixture of technical and business skills can bring to an organisation. As such, his knowledge will be incredibly important to the delivery of our Master of Information Leadership."

This unique, interdisciplinary, executive course was launched in 2010, to equip experienced IT professionals with the commercial, managerial and intellectual capabilities required at Board level.

Albert Ellis comments: "At Harvey Nash we take a keen interest in ensuring that the IT sector has the skills it needs to continue to grow and drive wider economic recovery. The Centre for Information Leadership shares this vision and I look forward to helping it deliver future courses and industry insight."

The appointment follows the recent news that the Chair of the External Advisory Panel, Julian David, has become Director General of Intellect - the trade association for the UK's technology sector.
