Nigel Parslow - UK Managing Director

Nigel is responsible for the Corporate Practices, comprising Consumer, Business Services, Marketing Services, CFO, Industry, Life Sciences, Retail and Scotland.

A generalist executive search professional with over twenty years experience in the UK and abroad, he has been at Harvey Nash for over ten years. According to independent market research, Nigel is exceptionally “quick on the brief”, which equals swift fulfilment for his blue-chip clients, such as FKI Logistex, Gamma Holdings, Games Workshop plc, Nestlé, Brakes and Rolls-Royce plc to name a few.

Whether placing cross-territory MDs for plcs – he has particular expertise in the consumer and industrial sectors – or delegating an assignment to the most suitable consultant at Harvey Nash, Nigel thinks laterally. He has an impressive track record in solving problem assignments and bringing candidates with best practice from one sector to another.

Recently, looking for a global supply chain director role for figleaves.com, he did not focus on retail, but placed an outstanding candidate from the consumer durables sector, where best practice and long supply chain dynamics was the norm.

“I enjoy the challenge of working within a broad context and the opportunity and ability to influence and lead,” says Nigel. “By that I mean understanding a business, its wider market and the organisational dynamics, and working with leaders whose opinions may differ, distilling these into a single viewpoint and getting people aligned behind it. Ultimately, this is what drives the role definition and candidate profile.’

Originally a Chartered Engineer, Nigel’s early career was in aerospace sector with Westland Helicopters and later in one of Rolls-Royce Power Division’s companies, where he was Technical and Quality Director. Outside work he combines his passion for food and cooking with his active sports including real tennis, soccer and sailing.
