Natalie heads up all our retail activity in the UK and leads the UK retail team. “I’d say 80 per cent of our work comes from ex-candidates,” says Natalie “We give candidates care, advice and direction, and as we actually take an interest in their career, they remember us when they’re looking to fill a role.”
Natalie has successfully delivered many board-level assignments for a wide range of clients, including online retailers and high street brands such as Play.com, Mothercare, Figleaves.com and New Look. An expert at applying corporate intelligence to a resourcing environment, she provides the personal service of a boutique search firm combined with the back-office support of a blue-chip.
Having spent a number of years working with a well-known retail entrepreneur, Natalie came to Harvey Nash in 2000 understanding the heady pace of the industry. She quickly rose to Director, expertly handling assignments for the likes of Clarks and Interflora. Clients recognise her market expertise and clarity of thinking and she is often commissioned to take on research projects that will inform their strategic planning.
Whether scoping the Middle East franchise market for a fashion retailer or finding the next MD for a household name, Natalie acts as “an ambassador for the brand”: Well-informed, and well-connected, she insists on understanding a client inside-out in order to represent them correctly. “When I’m interviewing for Mothercare, I have my Mothercare hat on, not my Harvey Nash one.”
Her early career was spent researching and allocating scholarships on behalf of The British Council and The English Speaking Union.
