Ian has been an executive search professional since 1993 and came to Harvey Nash in 2005 with expertise in enterprise software, IT services and consulting. He immediately made a strong impact. When international outsourcing company Everest set up a new office in the UK, the brand was unknown in Europe so sourcing outstanding talent was a challenge. However, Ian quickly built a team of highly-qualified consultants from sector leaders such as Accenture and EDS, allowing the Managing Principal to get on with developing the business.
Previously, he was the youngest ever Partner at Odgers Ray & Berndtson, and part of the material growth of its TMT division. Reviewing his many achievements over those 6 years there, he is particularly proud of placing the entire UK management team for Netdoctor, from CEO to Editorial Director, in just 4 weeks. It is now the UK’s leading independent health website. Ian also ran the Telecoms Practice at a leading Technology Search firm. He and his team were responsible for hiring senior executives for many of the world’s hi-tech vendors.
“Of course, if your candidate has helped to increase a company’s share price that proves you have done well. But I believe it is more important to place someone into a great role, who has not had a job for a while, especially when they have a family to look after”
