Gordon brings 27 years of experience in executive recruitment to Harvey Nash. Known for his intellectual rigour and leadership skills, he joined in 2007 to develop the investment, pensions and insurance practice. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, he has proved himself as a key recruiter of senior executives in these markets, working with clients as diverse as investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds and investment and actuarial consultants. In the 1980s, he helped to establish The Hays Group as a major force in UK recruitment. He left to launch his own global executive search company. Focussing on accountancy and financial services, conducting significant search activities in five continents, it grew to an impressive 11 offices worldwide. In 2004, The Hays Group persuaded Gordon to come back and set up their first commercial and financial services search practice. After recruiting a great team brimming with potential, Gordon wanted a new challenge. He was attracted by the “ambition and appetite” of Harvey Nash. The complexity of the investments, pensions and insurance markets appeals to Gordon. “Keeping up with ever-expanding regulations, changing distribution channels, pressure on investment returns is demanding but fascinating. The issues facing this sector are among the most challenging in corporate life and the competition for talent is intense.
