With 15 years experience in health management, Frank has an intuitive feel for the needs of both clients and candidates. He is one of the very few executive headhunters who has previously worked at Board level in the NHS.
This insight is invaluable to clients and means he can “future-proof” candidates. “I can transition senior talent from the commercial world to the NHS because I understand exactly what works in that environment and how the NHS operates– the last three Financial Directors I have placed have come from the commercial sector.”
Frank joined Harvey Nash in 2006 to lead and develop the NHS & Health Services Practice. Thanks to his efforts, Harvey Nash is now one of a handful of search firms on the NHS’ preferred supplier list, and recently sponsored the NHS Power 50 List, published in the Health Service Journal. He began his career in health management in 1992 at the British Medical Association, where he represented doctors to central government.
As Head of Policy Negotiations for General Practitioners, he led on contractual reform and negotiations with the Department of Health. He became an employment law expert as an Industrial Relations Specialist and lastly worked as Head of Change Management in redesigning member services. He decided to transfer his knowledge of medical management into the NHS directly, joining Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust in 2001 as Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications.
He then joined Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust as Executive Director of Human Resources & Organisational Development, a post he held between 2003-2006. With a strong interest in current affairs, political theory and history, Frank is known for his expertise in the NHS, his wide contacts and his informal and consultative approach with clients and candidates.
