“My background is unusual for a head hunter having spent 12 years working in pharmaceutical companies. I developed a specialism in protein engineering and molecular genetics with the aim to develop better therapeutic and diagnostic agents. I then moved to drug development in the pharmaceutical industry and for the next eight years held senior positions in clinical development, medical affairs and regulatory affairs in the corporate organisations of Sanofi and Pfizer, working in the UK, France and USA.

Using the broad experience I had gained in industry, I moved into executive search in 2001. Executive search offered me the opportunity to leverage my thorough understanding of, and commitment to, the healthcare industry in addition to my passion for helping companies to develop.

After initially working for a Life Sciences boutique I then became Head of Life Sciences at Odgers Ray & Berndtson. There, I successfully developed new business with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology companies in Europe, the USA and Asia.  Assignments completed include: Non-Executive Directors, CEOs, CFOs, General Managers, Managing Directors, Commercial Directors, Research Directors, Medical Directors and Regulatory Directors. It is important to me to remain very well-connected. Today, my specialism is recruiting senior management and non-executive directors across the spectrum of the Life Sciences sector.

The core areas of focus for the Life Sciences practice are across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices and diagnostics companies. My aim is to recruit consultants who might specialise in one or more of these core areas. As the practice develops, this will create opportunities for consultants who demonstrate the ambition, leadership skills and business winning ability to build and lead sector teams.

From the UK, we will work not only in UK but in many countries around the world. In the future there will be opportunities to add Life Sciences in other offices around the world. The Life Sciences expansion in the UK and abroad will create new opportunities within the practice and will further allow us to provide the best possible service for our clients.
