Interim Management

While demand for interim managers has been moderate to date, this is set to change in future as more and more businesses need to fill top posts at short notice.

The classic scenario for a medium-sized company headed up by two or three executives tends to go something like this: One manager drops out, either due to resignation, illness, death or a sudden mid-life crisis, or a trusted manager in his early fifties hits on the idea of opening a surfing school in Ibiza and decides on a radical career change. Such situations call for a speedy and sustainable solution, with no time for a lengthy induction or training period.

More often than not, someone has to step into the breach for a period of three to six months and be capable of running an entire business division or department within a relatively short period of one to two weeks. The tasks associated with interim management positions are complex and involve a great deal of mental and physical stress, brought on by travel, long stays in hotels, having to forego normal family life and immediately taking on a great deal of responsibility.

Harvey Nash has a vast pool of managers at its fingertips who take such challenges in their stride. Our database contains the names of around 1,000 highly-talented interim managers of all ages, including former CEOs, management consultants, controllers, financial experts and human resources specialists. Harvey Nash is perfectly placed to put together a first-class management team for your company.
