Instead of us telling you why Harvey Nash is a good company to work with, we have asked Carl Hoogstoel, a very enthusiastic freelance Back Office Developer, to share his experiences with Harvey Nash and why he likes to work with us.

At the moment Carl is working for a client of Harvey Nash in Gent. It is the third time that Harvey Nash has found him a project. In this project the client has a back office system that, after three years, still doesnt work. Carl guaranteed the client that he will have the ERP system up & running in the coming six months!
During the interview it becomes clear that Carl is a very passionate Back Office Developer. He describes himself as being born in a computer and he was seven years old when he developed his very first software!
In 2004 Carl had his first contact with Harvey Nash, which resulted in his first project: Belgacom/Proximus. In the meantime, Harvey Nash and Carl got to know each other better. Carl: I am a man of my word and I learned that Harvey Nash is the same: if they promise something, they deliver that promise and to me that is important.
Another project Harvey Nash provided for Carl was when Essent bought a piece of software for their back office but the software didnt perform. Carl re-developed it and the result was that Essent was now able to handle up to half a million requests per day in its call center in Sofia, Bulgaria!

When in contact with Harvey Nash Carl usually talks to Gwen Yudhira or Philip Pousset as he feels he can rely on both: they understand the kind of project I like. I dont have to explain anymore that I dont like to work in a project with a 9 to 5 mentality or a project where I have to account for every hour. I prefer to focus on results! That way I can deliver what I promised! And I always do. And so does Harvey Nash. Also when it comes to payments; the financial administration makes sure that that all runs smoothly as well.
I can not only rely on Harvey Nash, they can rely on me as well. That is why I am also working in a project through Harvey Nash for a fixed price. Usually Harvey Nash doesnt do that, but I feel that this is a way they give me the trust that I earned through the years.
