Transcript of video interview with Albert Ellis talking about the Strategic Partnership with Alcatel-Lucent.

Albert, can you tell us a little more about this major win for Harvey Nash?

Harvey Nash Group has assumed responsibility for the operations of Alcatel-Lucent’s strategic research and development centre in Nuremburg Germany.

The centre of excellent is called Nash Technologies and has approximately 180 highly skilled technical experts whose primary focus is to provide research and development services in the fast-growing wireless technology sector.

What is the background to the Alcatel-Lucent relationship?

We have a long and successful relationship with Alcatel-Lucent and it’s based on the success of this relationship and the trust built up over ten years which we believe gave Alcatel-Lucent the confidence to invite us to tender.

Specifically what is it about Harvey Nash that led Alcatel-Lucent to appoint us?

Harvey Nash has a strong history of outsourcing, particularly in the management of highly skilled people. We have successfully blended world-class software development capability in Vietnam with a unique approach to outsourcing in Europe.

In addition, as a global recruitment and IT outsourcing player, we were able to offer greater scope for the further development of the business and its people.

But above all, I believe Alcatel-Lucent was attracted to us because of our culture; our passion and our professionalism.

Now that the business is part of Harvey Nash what are the future plans?

Our main focus of course will be to provide a highly effective service to our client Alcatel-Lucent, a significant player in the global telecommunications market. In the future we envisage a broadening of the portfolio of services and opportunities. We expect to bring these capabilities both to Alcatel-Lucent and to the wider global market for wireless technology.

From a Harvey Nash perspective what does this new partnership mean?

Firstly this enhances our already strong presence in the telecommunications sector. Secondly having an initial contract over two years with predictable revenues gives us excellent financial visibility; something that is especially important in the current economic climate.

Thirdly the strategic relationship with Alcatel-Lucent has already presented further opportunities in other countries, which we are very excited about.

We really do see this as a major landmark contract win for the Group.
